Upward and Onward

Canvas number 14 is done except for final varnishing. So, while I can now wash my hands of the production phase of this project, I still have some final details to finish up before Tuesday’s hanging date. After that, it will be six weeks of continued promotion.

I’m grateful and pleased, but starting tomorrow, I plan to jump right into the next phase of production – getting ready for this fall’s SoWa market dates, which start in 5 weeks. I don’t plan on resting.

My time in the first studio space is finished on Sunday, and I wanted to finish the show canvases before I started to move into the new space. Tomorrow, I plan on moving the rest of my materials down to the second floor and start to think about how I want to set things up.

I’m going to miss the spot that I just spent 5 weeks in, but I’m excited to have something new to work with, and something more permanent. I will have the new spot for the next 11 months.

Lastly, I chose the canvas that I am going to use for the giveaway piece today. It’s a 16″ x 20″ gallery profile canvas, and plan to apply the final coats of gesso tomorrow and start thinking about the design.

So, far only one person has voiced an interest in taking part in the drawing, which will be at the end of the month. If no one else takes part, then that makes it easy picking for them, but I would encourage all of you to take part. Don’t be shy!

Again, this is just my little way of saying thanks to all of you who visit here each week.

Next week at this time, the show will be up and hung, and I’m sure there will be lots to talk about.

Until then, have a good weekend everyone!
