Is it really almost the end of August? After a sweltering summer, it seems like Vernon Street is coming back to life. Over the past couple of days, there has been more activity, and I actually see other people when I am there. It’s nice to run into another soul once in a while!
I am finally getting back into the swing of things after a little rough spot. I had been working furiously for over 14 weeks straight, and when the show went up, there was a sense of emptiness. I no longer had a goal or a date on the calender that I was working towards.
The new goal date is September 19. That will be the first appearance at SoWa in Boston. It will be a new experience, and I am looking forward to it.
My theme and direction from here on out is going to be Sacred Geometry. This is a new term to me, and a local painter used the term after viewing my work this week. It’s a label that I can gladly live with. The above canvas is 24″x24″ and is acrylic and oil.
Most of the work is done on the canvas that is going to be given away next Thursday. All that needs to be done is touch up and the final coats of varnish.
This has been a strange design for me. If you look at the progression photos, you will see that there have been lots of changes along the way. This is not the norm for me, as I don’t normally make any radical changes after I start a design. I think the fact that this is the first canvas after hanging the show and then going into a new line of production marks a tangible change in direction. So, I can say that I am happy with where it has taken me.
I will do the drawing next Thursday before I do my normal update. It’s not too late to participate. If you want to be included in the draw, please let me know.
I hope everyone has had a good week. Welcome to all of my new followers. Thank you for stopping by.
