Caio Fernandes Makes A Surprise Visit to Boston And Hangs Out With Brian Sylvester Of Inkpunk Artworks

The mighty, mighty Mein Welt, Caio Fernandes, paid me a visit today. He was passing through Boston on his way back to Sao Paulo. I knew his time was limited, so I brought him back to the house to show him my current work space. We talked about P and P a little, hung out, and then he had to be on his way.

But seriously...this newest book by Caio is a gem. For a mere $20 US, I have a little piece of the artist that I admire so much. What attracted me to his second book was the inclusion of some text, and from what I've read so far, it's exactly what I was hoping for...a glimpse into his world, his history and his process.

Through blogging, we all do a very good job at supporting each other's artistic endeavors, but I strongly urge each and every one of you to put your money where your mouth is and purchase this book. The price point can't be beat and the content is solid...and that's coming from a fellow struggling artist who has been unemployed for almost 2 years.

So, I thank you, my friend, for baring your soul and putting yourself out there. You have made me laugh time and time again with all of your craziness, and this little bit of support is the very least I can do.

On a different note: Next week at this time, I will be in my new studio and will have a lot of news to share. Until then, it's going to be busy for me getting everything together.

Have a great rest of the week!

Singular Ocular V.9 - Final Interpretation and Daylight Tomorrow - Both Acrylic and Ink - 24"x24"

Yes, the eyeball series is finished for now. I was very happy to dive into something different and equally pleased that the creative energy is still strong. I haven't run into any blocks yet.

That's #5 and 6 out of 14 canvases that need to be done by August 10. I think I'm in good shape so far.

I'm really looking forward to moving into my new studio space on the first of July. Vernon Street Studios is less than a 10-minute walk, and it will give me the opportunity to spread out and fully focus on further development.

While I'm here, I want to give a very special welcome to all of you who are new to this blog. My habit is to try and update once a week, and I always welcome your comments, suggestions or just a quick note to say hello. Thanks for being here!

Other than that, the weather here in Boston has been on the cool side, which is fine by me. I don't care for the heavy heat and humidity of summer, but I will take whatever Mother Earth wants to dish out to me.
