It’s been another busy week here in Studio 6A of Vernon Street. Since last Thursday’s post, I started a couple of new projects – a new wood panel and a small table for my friends Barbara and Stephen.
The museum is just steps from where Miss G and I live, and it will be an honor to have a piece there.
I only have about 4 weeks to complete it, so as you can see, I have a lot of work to do. Working under pressure is the best thing, and it’s my intent to do something signature, yet different.
The table is a small piece that I am dong for my friends, and I spent the week cleaning it up and giving it a coat of primer. We aren’t 100% set on the color palette yet, but once we agree on that, the project should go pretty quickly. I have given myself three weeks to complete it.
I worked on two canvases this week, and they are both about complete. The first one is 16″ x 16″ (40.6cm x 40.6cm), and the second one is 10″ x 10″ (25.4cm x 25.4cm). Both are new designs, and I am pretty pleased so far with how they look.
G and I have a market at the Burren on Saturday. St. Patrick’s day is next Thursday, so the market has a St. Patty’s theme. In the States, it’s one of the first signs that spring is on the way, and I hope plenty of people will be out. If you live local, please stop by and say hello.
The year has been good so far, but the economy and the art market is still pretty flat here. We both hope that we will be able to continue on the path that we are on. Truthfully, I am the happiest that I have ever been, but I am scared that we won’t be able to realize our full potentials due to finances. Nonetheless, I remain dedicated and positive that everything will continue to fall into place as it always does. Patrons of the arts are hard to find, and if you know anyone that might appreciate my work, please send them my way.
Thank you all for your continued interest and support. I appreciate each and every one of you!
Have a great weekend, all!!!
