The Will to Continue!
ArtBeat is this Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm, and I've spent the whole week painting my little fingers to the bone trying to flesh my inventory out a bit.
The economy in the US right now is in the toilet, so my goal is to offer affordable, original art. The 5" x 5" canvases are a mere $20, and yes, artwork right now is probably at the very end of everyone's list of necessities, but I could think of a lot worse things to have in one's home.
I'm happy to announce that the table I have been working on is about 95% finished. I plan to take it to the market on Saturday to show it off in hopes of additional commissions.
I like working on wood as much as I like working on canvas, and nothing makes me happier than to see a piece of furniture that had been discarded on the curb come back to life.
Tonight, I started to pull everything together that I will need for the market on Saturday. Tent, tent weights, promotional materials, table, canvases, etc, etc, etc. It has been some time since I have had to take the whole production out on the road. I am hoping and praying to the universe that the buying public will be out in full force this Saturday. I will have a full report with plenty of photos next Thursday.
Until then, please keep me in your thoughts and send me your good energy. I could not continue on this pursuit without your encouragement, feedback and kindness. I appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you!

Wishing you the very best for the coming show~~your price range is very wise and the work is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the way the table turned out; what a delightful second life for it! If I had an old table....and space in my junk-filled house....
As usual, the work is inspiring.
XXOO~~
Anne
Sounds and looks great as usual Brian!
ReplyDeleteWish we could be up there to check everything out in person,
but the beach is calling!
You already have our positive vibes flowing from down here,
so enjoy the day and stay in the shade!
I'm sure you'll have a great one...
Take care!

Brad,
ReplyDeleteI do know what you mean! I could have stayed in the ocean for an eternity over at the Cape!
I have not been to Cape Anne, but I'm sure my travels will take me that way at some point. Enjoy the sun and the surf!
Best,
Brian
What a fantastic table! The buying public will show up. Great weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteHallie,

Brian, you have some will power to go on like this! Share some of it with us. Very inspiring works and attitude!!!
ReplyDeleteB- you are right about the art market being in the toilet - Fiona and I just remind each other don't give up your are and creativity but also don't give up the day job - is that the ying-yang of art? Your work has so much energy and is so well priced - can't see how it would not be snapped up at a market - but then again for most folk markets are just an out\ing and they leave the cash at home. Hope you sold well including the table. Heaps of positive vibes to you and Miss G at this time. B
ReplyDeleteGary,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sending the force my way. I hope your week has gone well!
Take care,
Brian
Scott,
ReplyDeleteI have the sense that people are starting to buy too - slowly but surly!
I enjoyed doing the table, and I remain on the lookout for small discarded pieces of furniture.
Have a great week, my friend,
Brian
AK,
ReplyDeleteI send lots of positive energy your way for continued and inspired creativity. Keep at it!
Thank you for stopping by,
Brian
Barry,
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything you say! The problem with jobs is that they get in the way of the process. Just like anything else, the more I paint, the more tangible results I see. As you said, there has to be a balance to be had. I'm still working on finding that.
I hope you and Fiona are doing well. Thank you for giving your support to G and I. It is much appreciated!
Take good care,
Brian
The table looks very beautiful! I also enjoy painting on wood especially on old discarded furniture which can be brought back to life. Great work!
