New Space and New Work

This week was spent working on a new piece that will be submitted to the 20th Annual Winter Member’s Exhibition starting January 14 at the Southern Vermont Arts Center  It’s the first time I’ve put color down since the move.

I had originally started in on a new wood panel, but decided to go with a 16″ x 16″ canvas that could be submitted with some other pieces of the same size.  My newest wood panels will still be hanging at the Chaffee Art Center, and if they weren’t, I would submit them.

I still have some finish work to do on this one, and I also plan to do a different final glaze than I normally do.  I will let you know how it turns out.

I was thinking about the book The Giving Tree the other day, and I decided to use it as a theme for my most recent posting on the Wall Spin blog.  I don’t know if all of you have read this book, and if you haven’t, you should.  The post can be found here.

The holidays are almost here, and before you know it, we will be stepping into 2012.  It’s been a very busy year for both Miss G and myself, and we both look forward to continued professional growth in the coming months.

Until next Thursday, I would like to wish all of you and your families very Happy Holidays.
